FJammer problems - FJC Central.com

Hello all, I am new to Fj's so be kind please. I have a 2007 FJ with a FJammer in it, sometimes when I get in and start the FJ up the FJammer is playing, but the light on the front panel is out and the volume control on the radio doesn't work, the one on the steering wheel works though. If I tap the display screen a few times the lights come on and everything is good to go. I was just wondering is this a common problem or do I have a loose wire or WTF. Thanks for any advice.

the FJammer is notorious for being a piece of crap. I went through 3 of em under warranty then I finally upgraded. you got 2 choices. Deal with it till it goes out completely or replace it. One of the things about these is there is no 1 manufacturer. there were about 4 or 5. toyota was having them built by the lowest bidder, and it shows.

I'm on my 3rd one as well; although this one has worked fine since it was installed about 2-1/2 years ago. Assuming yours is still under warranty get it replaced (and keep doing so until you get one that doesn't act up).

I'm on my second which has lasted 2 years. I think CD's (dust) ruin them just run ipods off them.

Speaking of ipods, are the adapters I see on ebay (for $39.00 ) any good, will they work with the FJammer? I am always under the impression you get what you pay for.

if I'm to lazy to reach down less than a foot to control my ipod vs. doing it on the sterio then I sholdnt be driving IMO.

yea, that first cable is a waste, you still have to control ur ipod on ur ipod...

it just charges it and allows the headunit to recieve signal without using the aux input.

my first fjammer was ok, then it lost 89x (88.7) and other stations were really fuzzy for no reason. i got them to swap it, the second has been fine, but it only has like 2-3k or so on it lol, i haven't even put a cd in it yet.

i still plan on swapping it with a clarion, just everytime i get the moolah i seem to spend it on other things, guns, compressor.... sharn....
